San Francisco City Center Hostel



Located near City Hall and Civic Center, this hostel (of Hostelling International) has 5-person rooms with 5 dorm-style bunk beds and a private bathroom. Noteworthy, all of the rooms, including the shared dorms, have private bathrooms. This hostel is situated in the former Atherton Hotel, built in the 1920s.

Amenities and Neighborhood:

Tourist sites including Chinatown and Union Square are within walking distance. In addition, the City Center Hostel provides Wifi internet access, linens, pillows, towels, soap, coffee, tea, and daily room cleaning, in the room rate. There is 24-hour reception. Lastly, pets are not allowed. Secure parking is available nearby.

The on-site cafe serves a free continental breakfast each morning. Beer, wine, and snacks are available for purchase at the hostel bar in the evenings. Alcohol is not allowed in rooms, or brought in to the hostel. Daily activities are offered, including walking tours, tea tastings, dinners, and midnight movies. Self-serve and drop-off laundry services are nearby.
