The Berkeley Hotel is located downtown Richmond, VA in what is know as the Shockoe Slip. The “Terrace Room” and the “Junior Suite” have two double beds with sofa-bed to sleep 5. This is considered a luxury a hotel and as such has many amenities including fancy sheets and pillows along with WiFi and valet overnight parking.

Its central location provides easy access to Virginia Commonwealth University, historical Richmond, the riverfront walks along the James and other places of interest. While the hotel itself is not extremely old, the style is old world traditional which fits in with the its historical neighborhood. This boutique hotel has a four diamond rating and has received many other travel awards and honors.
The Shockoe Slip is where the former tobacco warehouses still stand to this day. Richmond provided a transportation hub for tobacco exports moving along the James River. Recent urban renewal developments along the river and Shockoe Bottom are attracting upscale restaurants and businesses. The Canal Walk and Pipe Line Walk provide recreational, nature conservancy and historical experiences for folks visiting this part of town.
