Victoria, British Columbia on Vancouver Island is one of our favorite places to visit for a quick excursion or longer. It has all the beauty of the Pacific Northwest–the island-dotted Strait of Juan de Fuca, the snowy Olympic Mountains, and towering evergreen trees. And it also has the charm of a Canada that is part of the Commonwealth, high tea at the Empress, manicured flower beds of Butchart Gardens and (personal favorite) Hatley Castle. Furthermore, visitors can spend the day at the top notch Royal British Columbia Museum with great First Nation and natural history exhibits.
