The Westin Bayshore

Accommodations:

The Westin Bayshore in Vancouver BC has multiple room types for a family of five (5) depending on the ages of your children. A room with two double beds accommodates a rollaway bed for an extra fee. Contact the hotel directly to make arrangements. A roll-away bed, crib, mini-fridge, and even a pet bed can be added to the room upon request.

There are also large suites that can accommodate 5 people.

Experience:

This hotel is a tower of 10 floors situated right near an active harbor. The entry is a wide expanse of landscaped driveway. And, inside the entrance is a wide expanse of polished floor tile. Amenities include: an indoor pool with a sauna and whirlpool, and an outdoor pool with chairs and a large bin of fresh towels aplenty. At the outdoor pool, a waitperson takes beverage and food orders and delivers to be delivered to you poolside, sigh. You can add it to your room tab. In addition, the hotel has a fitness center and restaurant. There is a Starbucks in the lobby area, which is handy for early morning snacks.

Our Visit:

We had a great rate for a room with two double beds. We were happily surprised to find our room was on the 9th floor with a great view of the pool and harbor.  The only noise came from seagulls and waterplane engines. However, we were charged a fee per day for internet service (Wi-Fi), and a per day parking fee. Furthermore, we were charged for the extra bed we requested upon our arrival. But it was the best folding bed we’d ever seen! Very plush with fine linens, and promptly delivered to our room and set up between the two double beds. The space was not huge. So, with the extra bed, our room was wall-to-wall bed.
