Sandy’s family stayed here in Summer, 2008. Our room opened into a very large, high-ceilinged room with a double bed, wardrobe, end tables, and window. That room, then, has a wide archway open to a room with another window, a bunk bed, a sofa that converts to a single bed, and a table and chairs. The windows looked out onto a cobblestone side street, and a small cafe across the way on the ground level.
The bathroom had great floor space, was very clean, and had plenty of towels for the five of us. The bathroom, also, had a window, again with coverings that provided nice privacy. Finally, the corner-shower had a raised entry, but was wide enough to easily step into, and two sliding glass doors that met at the corner.
Sleeps5 Experience:
The hotel includes the breakfast buffet in the room price. In addition, the hotel provides free parking. *Please note, we haven’t received recent confirmation whether the hotel takes credit cards. Previously, only cash was accepted.
Gunzburg, Germany – cobblestone street
The hotel is set on a cobblestone street. We were instructed to ring the buzzer to contact the proprietor. You can drive your car to the hotel to unload (caution: ask the owner first if it is market day, as we discovered streets filled with people, and no room to drive). Then, the owner gave directions to a complimentary parking lot nearby. The building entry has no porch and sits flush with front of the building. The staircase was carpeted and plenty wide to easily haul luggage up one flight.
Amenities:
The building houses an ice cream parlor with inside seating or guests may order something from the street-side counter instead. The ice cream parlor doubles as the breakfast room for hotel guests. Each morning, the hotel served a breakfast buffet of meats and cheeses, juice, coffee, six types of cereal, rolls, milk and yogurt. Furthermore, there are numerous restaurants surrounding the hotel.
