Haus Wartenberg

The Haus Wartenberg is a 13-room hotel with large rooms for 5 or 6 people. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Salzburg city center, on the other side of the hill from the old town and train station. It is necessary to either hire a taxi or ride the bus from the train station unless you are an amazing walker. There is a short tunnel that runs through the hill leading directly to the city center–an easy walk.

The neighborhood itself is very peaceful. We stayed in the connecting room in the upstairs attic (Familienzimmer). There is another room that can also accommodate 5 or 6 people. Most rooms have a private bathroom (confirm directly with the hotel), TV, and wifi internet access (free). Guests walk up one flight of stairs to reach the “front desk” in this hotel which dates to 1654.
Breakfast is available for an extra fee. Baby cots (crib) are also available.
