I’d never set foot here again. We booked a family room well in advance, at the Westbury Hotel. When we arrived — late at night, with tired kids, after ferry and driving — we had to pay for 3 nights in advance and they refused to let us see the room before we paid. The room turned out to be in the basement and the only window looked at the brick wall of an air shaft. It felt like a bunker. Horrible. They refused to refund our money, saying I should have informed them in my reservation request that we didn’t want a basement room. We had to hurry and find another place. The topper was that the next day they didn’t allow me back into the room to take a photo, saying it had been rented. Then why was I charged for all 3 nights if they rented it out again the next day? And why was I denied access to a room that I had payed for?
Try the Grand Plaza Serviced Apartments on Princes Square for very nice family rooms at a reasonable price. The large rooms have a kitchenette and windows with views!
